COVID-19 related fatality in Dripping Springs

One new COVID-related fatality, a Dripping Springs male in his 60s, was reported on December 4 by the Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD). The Health Department also reported 82 new lab-confirmed cases, 8 (eight) new hospitalizations, two (2) new hospital discharges and 65 additional people now considered recovered. The total number of individuals considered recovered is 6,753.

Arrests made in multiple vehicle burglaries in Dripping Springs

Hays County deputies responded to a burglary of a vehicle call in the Belterra subdivision in the Dripping Springs area, on November 25, at 2:30 a.m. The caller observed a person attempting to gain entry into their vehicles and provided a clothing description of the suspect and a description of the vehicle driven by the suspects. Once deputies arrived in the area, a truck was observed leaving a driveway in the area of the reported burglary.

DSHS student collects beanie babies to help kids

When Emily Bergeron, a Senior at Dripping Springs High School took on a fall service project, she wasn’t sure what to expect given the COVID-19 pandemic. Her goal was to collect as many beanie babies as she could for the “Comfort for Kids” program. The mission of the program is to equip local first responders with beanie babies. They can then give the stuffed animals to children who may be frightened during an emergency situation.
