#1 City gets new mayor
For the first time in 19 years, the City of Dripping Springs has a new mayor. Bill Foulds was sworn into office by the man he is replacing Mayor Todd Purcell, during the city council meeting on May 12.

Area veterans are one step closer to having a permanent retreat as the Patriots’ Hall of Dripping Springs will break ground this fall. Located on U.S. 290 near Canyonwood Dr., Patriots’ Hall is a 10 acre site that will feature a 7100 square foot gathering hall, an accent hall for VFW and American Legion meetings, a wellness clinic, a fishing pond, trails and more.
The highest structural beam was erected on the new Fire Station #74, located at the intersection of Belterra Drive and Sawyer Ranch Road. The “top out” ceremony was held on Friday, October, 23. Fire and EMS personnel were on-hand to witness the historic event. “The North Hays County Fire Rescue is pleased with the progress of the new Fire Station #74,” NHCFR Chief Scott Collard said. “The project is on schedule to be completed in May of 2021. This facility is a great addition to our organization and will allow us to grow with the community around us.”
The Dripping Springs City Council has accepted a donation deed of 300 acres of land from Dick Rathgeber and Rathgeber Investment Company, Ltd. This land is located adjacent to the Headwaters Subdivision and will be dedicated to the city as Rathgeber Natural Resource Park.
The Dripping Springs Water Supply Corporation (DSWSC) is currently constructing a 750,000 gallon elevated storage tank on its property on Hart Lane, near the intersection of Harmon Hills Rd and Bell Springs Rd. According to the DSWSC, the tank will be a composite tank similar to the DSWSC tank on Counts Estates Drive on the south side of town and the West Travis County Public Utility Agency tank on the right hand side of U.S. 290, as you enter Dripping Springs from the east.
