Our latest camping adventure took my family and I to a popular summer destination in Texas-- The Frio River. After experiencing my first visit there during this time of year, however, I’m convinced it’s a great place to visit in the fall as well.
The highest structural beam was erected on the new Fire Station #74, located at the intersection of Belterra Drive and Sawyer Ranch Road. The “top out” ceremony was held on Friday, October, 23. Fire and EMS personnel were on-hand to witness the historic event. “The North Hays County Fire Rescue is pleased with the progress of the new Fire Station #74,” NHCFR Chief Scott Collard said. “The project is on schedule to be completed in May of 2021. This facility is a great addition to our organization and will allow us to grow with the community around us.”
DSISD Superintendent Todd Washburn is leaving the school district. The Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees and Washburn, at the October 26 school board meeting, agreed that he will resign at the end of the fall 2020 semester. In the near term, he will take personal leave to attend to family health matters. Washburn joined DSISD in November 2019.
