Oak Creek Cafe and Crepe Crazy burglarized

Neighboring restaurants, Oak Creek Cafe and Crepe Crazy were broken into this past weekend. It happened during the early morning hours when the restaurants were closed. “We lost $200 out of our main cash register,” Jennifer Henderson said. Henderson and her family operate Oak Creek Cafe. She said that both restaurants captured surveillance footage of the incident that has been submitted to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office. There was one suspect that appeared on the footage. “He basically went straight for the office. It was kind of weird, because he knew exactly where he was going and what he was doing,” Henderson said. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time the restaurant was broken into. “We had the exact same thing happen about four years ago.” To Henderson’s surprise however, the suspect this time around may have stumbled across an important message from her 8 year old daughter at the time. “We have two register drawers,” Henderson explained. “One is basically an extra drawer that we keep in the office. It doesn’t have any money in it…it’s just in case we need it. So, my daughter wrote this note 4 years ago [that reads] “stop robbing us.” It was put in the old register drawer and none of us knew about it,” Henderson continued. “So, when the guy came into the office, both register drawers were out in the middle of the floor. Obviously, he grabbed that drawer thinking there was something in it. All that was in it was a note that none of us knew about, that my daughter had written four years ago.”
