Dripping Springs ISD's fifth elementary school is under construction on Darden Hill Road (near the intersection of Sawyer Ranch Road). The school will have the capacity for 850 students and is scheduled to open for the 2021-22 school year; construction currently is on schedule and on budget. Work on developing attendance zones will begin in January.
The Dripping Springs City Council has accepted a donation deed of 300 acres of land from Dick Rathgeber and Rathgeber Investment Company, Ltd. This land is located adjacent to the Headwaters Subdivision and will be dedicated to the city as Rathgeber Natural Resource Park.
Of the 21 Dripping Springs High School choir students who submitted recordings for the second round (pre-area) of TMEA all-state audition, a schoolrecord 13 qualified for Area auditions. In addition, two students were alternates. Only the top five students in each voice part are selected, out of 15-18 who audition. The Area round will be held in January. The contest is conducted by the Texas Music Educators Association.
The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear a lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton challenging the results of the presidential election.
The Texas Education Agency announced today that A-F ratings would be paused for 2020-21 school year due to the ongoing disruptions associated with COVID-19.
