Dripping Springs All-District baseball selections

Now that the season has concluded for baseball, it is time to name the Dripping Springs Tigers that have earned the right to be on one of the District 26-5A teams as selected by the district coaches. Dripping Springs had some tough competition in district play as they finished second in district, just behind New Braunfels Canyon and just ahead of Alamo Heights and Kerrville Tivy. For those that watched the entire playoffs one might wonder how some of the Tigers were not named to higher positions. Two reasons. District was strong which means many good players plus the all-district teams were chosen the week after district and before the playoffs begin and you are judged on how you played in district and not the playoffs. Later honors may reflect the entire season. Had expected to be able to include our players season stats but those were not available at this time. Maybe later. The Tigers were represented by ten players.

Another successful year of sports for Dripping Springs

Despite the travails provided the sports world by the Covid 19 experience, Dripping Springs sports enjoyed another successful year of competition. The UIL put into place some protocols to deal with this and schedules met some changes that trimmed down the number of contests that were normally taking place during the season. Delayed season starts as well as starts and stutters to the season as Covid cases cropped up for the teams and their opponents. It turned out to be another part of their education that tested resilience. All in all, the Dripping Springs athletes and their teams met the challenge and had a banner overall year and should place high in the Lone Star Cup standings for 5A.
