Lady Tigers dominate All-District softball selections

All of the playoff teams of District 26-5A have been eliminated and that makes it possible to publish the coaches selections for the All-District teams. The champion Dripping Springs Lady Tigers, 21-9-1, dominated the selections. There were nine teams in the district which means about ninety starters to pick from. Twenty-six were chosen for the first team, 18 second team and 27 honorable mention.

Tigers on a roll

The time to play your best ball of the season is during the playoffs. Otherwise, the season will be cut short. The baseball Tigers have decided they want a long season. They came back strong to defeat Georgetown twice in bi-district. The Area game was against San Antonio Jefferson. Jefferson won the toss and opted for a onegame playoff. They did the same for the bi-district. Usually when a team does this it is because they have one good pitcher and it is to their advantage to put the outcome on one roll of the dice. Even so, not a good option when you are playing a team with one of the best pitchers in the state and pretty good others to back up.

Tiger seniors sign National Letters of Intent

Eight additional Dripping Springs High School senior student-athletes announced that they will continue their playing careers at the collegiate level at a letter of intent signing ceremony on earlier last month: swimmers Piper Guinn, Isabella Sites and Quinn Mauck, soccer player Adrian Chiang, lacrosse player Joseph Roberts, football players Luke Lawyer and Hunter Pierpoint, and track/cross country athlete Caleb Lopez. This brings the total number of members of the Class of 2021 who will be college athletes to 22.

Tigers advance in baseball playoffs

Georgetown will begin to hate seeing the Tigers on their playoff schedule. The football team knocked them out in bi-district and now the baseball team did likewise. The first game provided one of the most edge-of-the-seat games you would ever want to watch. It would go a school record 14 innings before a conclusion could be reached.
