Tigers advance in baseball playoffs

Georgetown will begin to hate seeing the Tigers on their playoff schedule. The football team knocked them out in bi-district and now the baseball team did likewise. The first game provided one of the most edge-of-the-seat games you would ever want to watch. It would go a school record 14 innings before a conclusion could be reached.

Lacrosse season ends with loss in the final eight

Dripping Springs hosted the first two rounds of the Texas High School Lacrosse League’s Super Regions last Saturday and Sunday. A rain-soaked, and lightningrich Hill Country delayed the start of the Tiger’s matchup against Houston Memorial for five hours. Play resumed in the rain and Drip beat Memorial 12-7. The win propelled the Tigers into the final eight in a grudge match versus Austin High on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The Maroons defeated Dripping Springs 11-8.

Lady Tigers softball swamped

Inclement weather that produced over four inches of moisture during the bidistrict series with Leander Glenn kept interrupting what was otherwise a close series. In the end, the Lady Tigers fell one game short of advancing in the playoffs. It certainly was the strangest of series as no game was ever completed in the same day. Although both teams had to endure the same conditions, it is always better for everyone if the games could be completed without mishap. Both teams are to be congratulated for persevering.

Tigers ready for baseball playoff season

It is one of the hazards of playing outdoor sports in the spring. It is also a time of inclement weather, mainly rain. Of late, rain has been interfering with the regular scheduling of baseball and the upcoming playoffs for the Tigers baseball team. Dripping Springs, with its all-weather field does give them a leg up on being able to play during wet spells. Even so, lightning and downpours still negates that advantage.
