Teacher of the Year awarded by VFW Post 2933
Marie Rogers of Dripping Springs Elementary School has been named Teacher of the Year by VFW Post 2933. Ms. Rogers is in her third year as DSE's Physical Education teacher and her 15th year teaching.

A group of six juniors from Dripping Springs High School have been selected by Vince F. Taylor American Legion Post 290 to go to American Legion Boys State this summer. The program is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for U.S. high school students.
Grace and Faith Baxter are a unique sister duo from Dripping Springs. Both are involved in Texas FFA throughout high school and accepted into the Texas FFA Foundation Ambassadors program. They decided to team up on a project titled, “Center of the Plate.”
Members of the public were welcomed back in-person at last week’s Dripping Springs Independent School District Board of Trustees meeting. This was the first time since last year the Board conducted a meeting in person or allowed stakeholders to attend due to the pandemic. Previously, the Board met via video conferencing and allowed public comments to be submitted prior to the meetings.
Charlie Busbey is running for Place 3. He is a U.S. Army Veteran, and a longtime resident of Dripping Springs since 1995. Busbey served three terms as a council member from 2011-2017. Prior to that, he was City Treasurer, having held the position for 10 years before resigning to serve an active duty tour in Iraq.
