American Legion Post 290 sponsors six to attend summer program
A group of six juniors from Dripping Springs High School have been selected by Vince F. Taylor American Legion Post 290 to go to American Legion Boys State this summer. The program is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for U.S. high school students.
At Boys State, participants learn the rights, privileges and responsibilities of franchised citizens. The training is objective and centers on the structure of city, county and state governments.
Post 290 and a generous local donor sponsors and pays for the boys to attend the program at no cost to them. American Legion Boys State began in 1935.
