Busbey a candidate for City Council once again

Charlie Busbey is running for Place 3. He is a U.S. Army Veteran, and a longtime resident of Dripping Springs since 1995. Busbey served three terms as a council member from 2011-2017. Prior to that, he was City Treasurer, having held the position for 10 years before resigning to serve an active duty tour in Iraq.

Busbey says his experience with city finances is his reason for running again now. “On council, I worked with the city budget more than anyone else and worked with the city treasurer, so I’ve got many years behind me with the city finances,” Busbey said. “The recent city treasurer is retiring, so they’re [council] losing institutional knowledge. That’s probably the main reason some have asked me to run.”

Busbey has also previously held a position on the Planning and Zoning Commission for four years, and served o the Transportation Committee. He says addressing transportation issues remains an important priority, along with workin with developers to meet some of those needs.

Busbey has been married for 43 years, and has two adult sons. He is an active member and volunteer for the VFW, American Legion, St. Martin de Porres Church and Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
