Texas receives record 2.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine this week
The recently reconstituted Hays County Parks and Open Space Advisory Commission (POSAC) is seeking additional new ideas and project recommendations. The group, convened in 2020 by Hays County Commissioners Court to establish the viability of a parks, open space and conservation bond program, provided recommendations that might be funded by the Hays County Proposition A, Parks & Open Space Bond on the November 2020 ballot. The bond was passed with a 70 percent voter approval.
All adults are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Texas. The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) said vaccine supplies have increased, and providers in multiple parts of the state have made great strides in vaccinating people in the current priority groups.
The planning and discussion of new attendance zones for the Dripping Springs Independent School District hit a snag during the Board of Trustees agenda review meeting on March 22. The Board was set to receive the proposed new attendance zone maps from the Attendance Zone Development Committee, but no final recommendation was provided at that time.
The County is hosting three separate Virtual Open Houses to share information and collect input from the community for the Dripping Springs Southwest Connection Study, the Hillside Terrace Improvements Project, and the Windy Hill Road Project.
