The Hays County Commissioners Court approved the creation of two new election precincts during its regular meeting March 9.
The state’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.8% in January, down a tick from December’s 6.9% rate but double the record low of 3.4% in May 2019. It is unclear what effect the mid-February winter storm had on employment, when power outages swept the state and many roads were impassable. We’ll find out next month.
More than 1 million first doses of COVID-19 vaccine arrived to providers across Texas this week. The state is allocated 929,320 doses to 1,651 providers in 234 counties. More than 200,000 additional doses are available to pharmacy locations and federallyqualified health centers directly from the federal government.
