Shelf Talk: Native American Heritage Month
November is Native American Heritage Month. It is a time to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions and contributions of Native people. According to the National Congress of American Indians, Native American Heritage Month is “also an opportune time to educate the general public about tribes, to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges.” In light of Native American Heritage Month, the Dripping Springs Community Library offers the following book list for children and adults.
