During the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) meeting on December 17, a motion was made and passed to donate a collected $10,000 to the Patriots’ Hall of Dripping Springs. Doing so has allowed for the Dripping Springs VFW post #2933 to become a Patriots' Hall Founding Sponsor. The Dripping Springs VFW has encouraged students to participate in the Patriot's Pen and the Voice of Democracy contest for many years. This year there were a handful of participants, most of which competed in the 6th-8th grade Patriot's Pen competition.
Today at 10:30 a.m., my family laid to rest another innocent victim of COVID-19. In early January, a close family friend will be buried in his West Texas hometown. He, too, was a sudden victim of COVID-19.
