New Rainbow Rhythm Daylilies: Stunning for the ages

Rainbow Rhythm King of the Ages daylily has the gardening world abuzz with anticipation for spring 2021. This is a 38-inch-tall new daylily making its debut and offering the rarest of colors in the garden world. It is a combination of butter yellow, peach and apricot blend. That would be enough to make you scream but consider it also has a burgundy eye and ruffled burgundy margins. I assure you it is coming to The Garden Guy’s house.

Dripping Springs Youth Orchestras perform at Nutty Brown

Dripping Springs Youth Orchestras (DSYO) held a concert on December 6th to mark the end of their fall semester rehearsals. Due to COVID-19, the students rehearsed in open air environments while observing social distancing and wearing masks. The Beginning Orchestra, Intermediate Orchestra, and Advanced Orchestra all performed on the Nutty Brown Amphitheatre stage. The concert at Nutty Brown was performed for families and friends of orchestra members.

DSHS student recognized for nonprofit she started

When Dripping Springs High School junior Ramsey Hutton was a student at Sycamore Springs Middle School, she started Books for L.O.V.E., a literacy outreach organization supporting the community by collecting and distributing books to children. The organization's goal is to ensure access to quality literature for all. Recently Ramsey was recognized as one of five "Kids Who Care" by KVUE News.

hree DSISD schools receive CREST Award

Three schools in Dripping Springs ISD have been announced as winners of the prestigious statewide CREST (Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas) award by the Texas School Counselor Association (TSCA). Recognized schools are (with counselors’ names): Dripping Springs Elementary (Raynie McLaurin/Michelle Tasin), Rooster Springs Elementary (Kimberlee Guerrero/Karey Carroll) and Sycamore Springs Elementary (Amy Guerra/Casey Baker). For Sycamore Springs Elementary, it is the third consecutive year to receive the honor.
