Two Garden Treasures have come together for a magnificent purpose and that is getting food to those who need it most. It is a story that is still being written and one that will tug at gardener’s hearts across the country.
What makes us all human and all different is our talents, developed and undeveloped. As we develop into mature adults, we are quick to recognize talents that we didn’t know we had, or could give us satisfaction, such as woodworking, gardening and cooking. All good hobbies, but not for everyone.
It just may be time. Maybe my age, but over the past 12 months – and COVID quarantining hasn’t made this rite of passage any easier – every month and sometimes every week, one of my heroes dies.
Dripping Springs High School sophomore Katherine Ferno is one of 17 winning entries in the 2021 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo’s Western Art Competition. Her art titled, “Robert Earl”, is a colored pencil drawing and will be on exhibit at the Briscoe Western Art Museum through February 3.
Dripping Springs resident and retired Lieutenant Colonel (U.S. Army) Darrell Debish was honored recently at an event put on by The Patriot Warrior Foundation. Debish received a Quilt of Valor. The quilts are awarded to a service member or veteran who has been touched by war.
