Hays County Master Gardeners annual plant sale set for October

Hays County Master Gardeners’ annual Fall Plant Sale will be online and inperson this year. This year we will feature Texas native and adapted perennials, grasses, shrubs and succulents and, of course, Texas Superstar© plants that will actually thrive in the hot Texas weather, unlike many of the plants found at the big-box stores. Members will be following CDC guidelines.

Family Court Judge receives award for Best Article in Family Law

A Hays County Associate District Court Judge was recently awarded the Joseph W. McKnight Best Family Law CLE Article. The Honorable Karl E. Hays, Associate District Court Judge for the Family Court of Hays County, along with co-author and attorney Chris Wrampelmeier with the Underwood Law Firm, received the prestigious award on August 2 from the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas during the Advanced Family Law Course in San Antonio.

There are a number of notable folks resting in peace within its grounds - government officials, pioneer settlers, Indian fighters and war veterans…and Eva Speed Donohoo, the victim of one of the most unusual causes of death.
