Now that the temperatures are in the 90s, it’s time to think of the cool autumn winds, which bring relief from the often unrelenting summer heat. It can be hard now, but imagine the first of fall where temperatures drop and run 70s in the day, high 50s at night. They are open-bedroom-window type of nights. It is a time for hearty soups for both the warmth and the soul.
If someone had told me that there was a heliotrope that could hang with a lantana over a long hot and wet summer, I would have said sure when pigs fly. Well clear Runway One because August's Lavender is arriving for spring 2022.
The Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival, taking place in downtown Dripping Springs on October 15-17, 2021, is excited to announce the 2021performing songwriters. Over 300 songwriters from across the US applied to perform and 50 songwriters were selected by the esteemed group of music industry professionals. 20 of the songwriters selected to perform are new to the Festival and 30 are returning songwriters. Congratulations to recent DSHS graduate Kyndal Miethke for being honored with the Outstanding Performer Award for her performance at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest. Miethke was one of just 75 vocal soloists in the state of Texas to earn this honor.
