As November approaches, the Hays County Elections Office is busy preparing new voting equipment for the upcoming election. This year when voters walk into polling places, they will see a new voting system: the Hart InterCivic Verity Duo system. The hybrid system combines touchscreen electronic voting and paper ballots, which provides a paper trail for post-election auditing.
The DSISD Board of Trustees' search for a new, permanent superintendent, which is being led by Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Executive Search Services, will include opportunities for stakeholder input. Students, district employees, parents and members of the community will be involved in developing a profile of the leadership qualities desired of the candidate the Board should seek to become the new superintendent through in-person meetings and an online survey.

The recent headstone reclamation project of Texas historical figure Jacob De Cordova gave present-day Boy Scout Edward Timmerman, of Dripping Springs Troop 101, an opportunity to step into Texas history through his Eagle Scout Project.
Former Dripping Springs ISD Superintendent Dr. Bruce Gearing has been selected as one of five Texas state finalists for the annual Superintendent of the Year (SOTY) award. Dr. Gearing completed a seven-and-a-half year stint at DSISD and started as Leander ISD's new superintendent Sept. 3.
The Dripping Springs Planning and Zoning Commission voted (7-0), at their Aug. 27 meeting, to approve a recommendation to the City Council to allow an additional 17.39 acres to be added to the Driftwood Solage Subdivision, located at 582 Thurman Roberts Way, off of FM 1826. The current 27-acre subdivision tract [Lot B-1] would then increase to about 44.4-acres in size.
