Hays County will begin work on the RM 3237 road construction project beginning on or about September 13, 2021. The work is in Hays County Precinct 3, represented by Hays County Commissioner Lon Shell, who is overseeing the project.
As of Aug. 27, the Hays County Local Health Department considers 2,184 cases active and there have been 24,868 total cases since the first diagnosis of the virus within its boundaries on March 14, 2020. The county has tallied 3,342 COVID-19 cases over the past 21 days. There have been 2,754 probable cases spanning from April 2020 through Aug. 27, 2021.
A new Texas law that will make it easier for businesses and organizations to have automated external defibrillators will take effect on Thursday, Sept. 1, and could save thousands of lives.

The Texas House approved an elections bill Friday along party lines with 21 Democrats declining to participate. The bill, slightly different from previously passed Senate legislation, now heads a conference committee that will negotiate a final version.
