State climatologist: Texas weather getting hotter

The state climatologist recently predicted that Texas will continue to get hotter and for longer periods of time during the next 15 years. In “Assessment of Historic and Future Trends of Extreme Weather in Texas, 1900-2036,” John Nielsen-Gammon predicted the average annual temperature in Texas will be three degrees warmer than the average from 1950- 1999, and the number of 100-degree days could nearly double compared to 2000-2018.

Regional Animal Shelter study approved by Commissioners Court

The Hays County Commissioners Court approved funding for a Request for Qualifications for a feasibility study for proposals and planning of the centralized Hays County Animal Shelter.

DSISD sets new tax rate

The Dripping Springs Independent School District’s annual tax rate was approved at its Sept. 27 Board of Trustees meeting by a vote of 6-1.

Farmer's Market named Best in Texas

For the third time in four years, Dripping Springs has the title as the number-one Farmers Market in Texas. This comes after a threemonth-long nationwide vote organized by American Farmland Trust.
