Lady Tigers drops home opener to Fredericksburg

The Lady Tigers hit an absolute scoring wall as they fell 80-28 to Fredericksburg in the home opener. It is not unusual for teams to find it hard to score in the opponent's gyms but should be more familiar with their own. This was not the case for the Lady Tigers as Murphy's Law “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong” was in full view. On the other hand, Fredericksburg played an almost impeccable game and simply could not miss a shot.

Tigers fall to Georgetown

For the third time in the last three years, the Tigers have failed to get past the bi-district round in football. The bi-district opponents have been from the tough Cedar Park district next to us, making it hard to get wins. In fact, this year, all four of the District 26- 5A representatives were eliminated in the first round. For the Tigers, this year was a rematch of last year when they narrowly won over Georgetown. One had to know the Eagles sore had been festering for a full year and an even larger dose of salt had been thrown in the wound by their bidistrict loss to the Tigers baseball team.

Volleyball continues playoff run

The Lady Tigers volleyball team is well on the road to duplicating their state run of last year. After finishing up with a second place finish in district, they went down to Bryan and took on A&M Consolidated in a practice round. They opened Bi-district with a very close 3-2 victory to get by a really tough opponent in Cedar Park. The Tigers then proceeded to sweep San Antonio Burbank in 3-0 victory in the Area Round. Now they will have to go back through district opponents, both of which defeated the Lady Tigers in district. Last Tuesday they played Alamo Heights, and up next the team will face New Braunfels Canyon. They have increased their season record to 35-15.

Lady Tigers basketball opens with win

There is a lot of new about the Lady Tigers basketball team this year. First of all they have welcomed Jordan Batson as the new head coach. Previously, the DS assistant, Coach Batson moved up when Coach David Norris decided to retire from the sport. Also, most of the players on the squad will basically be new to starting and playing significant minutes. They will be eager to improve on last years' 9-13 record and fifth place finish.
