Opinion: Random musings

The UIL has dangled the first carrot in their decision of what to do with fall sports. Recently, they announced a tentative fall schedule that seemed a little strange. With a few strings attached, they allowed the first four classifications to start their seasons on time while delaying the start of 5A-6A seasons into September. My question is why? Are they just using the smaller schools as guinea pigs? Otherwise what is the difference between a student in a class A school from a 6A one?

Tuesday night league softball results

With all games on the Tuesday night league being more competitive, so has the run for the title. Three more weeks of play will determine that outcome. Tuesday night league softball results

Another full week of games was accomplished. The Tuesday night league has reached the midway point of their season after being able to complete a makeup night. The final run should be interesting as the strongest team (Sunset Canyon Baptist) spotted the league four games by forfeit when a miscommunication caused forfeitures on the makeup night. Tuesday night had three highlight games. In the SCB-Shockers game it was tied at 14 when the Shockers failed to tally in the final at bat of regulation. SCB exploded in the extra inning for their win. The Bombers stared down a 10-3 deficit to comeback in the final two innings for their win over the Conglomerates. The Conglomerates trailed the Shockers 6-0 before DSC chipped back in the final innings for their win.

Sports Opinion: Random Musings

We are getting back to the Dripping Springs school sports histories. This one will cover the first half of the 90's. It was a very good half decade as nineteen teams earned playoff berths and two state championships. Through most of these years, district foes included Burnet, Fredericksburg, Lake Travis, Lampasas, Liberty Hill and Marble Falls when those teams had some of their better teams. All those years Dripping Springs competed in the 3A classification.
