YMCA Swim Meet
Four swimmers from the Springs Family YMCA competed in the NorthWest Family YMCA Swimming Pentathalon on Sunday Dec. 2 in North Austin.
The event was an informal, fun competition benefitting the YMCA's Annual Campaign, which provides scholarships for members who may not otherwise be able to participate in the YMCA programs.
Competitors in the Pentathalon were men and women ranging from their 20s to 80s. All events were 50 yards except for the Individual Medley, which was 100 yards. Results for their respective age groups, from Dripping Springs, were:
Breanna Plimpton, 26, won first place for butterfly, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley. Plimpton is a swim instructor at the Springs Family YMCA.
Holly Diemer, 35, swam all events and took first place in 50-yard breaststroke, and second in freestyle. She placed third in butterfly, backstroke, and 100-yard individual medley. Holly is the Master's Swim Coach at the Springs Family YMCA.
Suzanne Pacheco, 53, placed first in 50-yard freestyle.
Amanda Griffin, 36, swam all events and won first place in backstroke and individual medley, second in butterfly and breaststroke, and third in freestyle.
