XC team falters at state

The Dripping Springs High School Lady Tigers cross country team found themselves in tall cotton at the state meet held at Settlers Park in Round Rock on Friday, Nov. 4.

The 6A teams around the state were top notch, and the competition was out of this world. Dripping Springs just could not keep up with the other teams, as they came in 16th. Though disappointing, one has to remember the Lady Tigers did make it to state to compete, while hundreds of others did not. This program will not be dismayed and will only go back to work to improve on an otherwise stellar program.

6A standings: Lewisville Flower Mound 42, Southlake Carroll 51, Humble Kingwood 116, Vandegrift 137, The Woodlands (Conroe) 176, Klein 216, El Paso Franklin 237, Bridgeland 235, Plano West 240, Round Rock 254, Klein Oak 266, Katy Tompkins 283, Richmond George Ranch 287, Houston Stratford 307, Vista Ridge 357, DS 422.

DSHS results: 104. Madison Johnson 20.14.90; 121. Rylea Bernhard 20.58.70; 123. Mia Simons 21.02.00; 131. Alexa Velasco 21.14.00; 138. Chandler Latham 21.25.20; 144. Sofia Vences 21.39.30; 147. Laurel Hoskovec 21.53.40.
