Wrestling team opens season
It did not take the Dripping Springs wrestling team long to hit the mats when it came time to open their season. Within a week they had two dual meets and a tourney to keep them occupied.
The first dual meet was against Schertz-Clemens and San Marcos. The Tigers took Schertz 70-6 and lost to San Marcos 36-42. The problem with early dual matches is incomplete lineups and in this case also had some opponents that did not make their weight for the classification. Tony Quevedo was the only participant that got to have a match in each dual. The program also has girls for the first time and three got to compete. Lauryn Hammond went 2-0 with a pin in each. Alyson Brownson-Welch was 1-0 with a pin. Catalina Miller was 1-1 with a pin against S-C and lost with San Marcos.
Next they traveled to Katy and took part in the dual with Cypress Woods and Cinco Ranch. They defeated CW 40-37 but lost to CR 19-49. Boys that went 2-0 in their matches were Crystian Zamora, Quevedo and Clayton Jetton. Hammond would go 0-2.
The next day they were in the Cinco Ranch tourney, competing with some very good programs. They gained a first and three fourths which gained them a seventh place among twelve with 84.5 points.

Girls: Round robin format. 110 – Hammond (fourth): lost fall; lost fall; lost MD 11-0; won fall; won fall.
