Wrestling remains undefeated

The Dripping Springs wrestling teams had a busy and prosperous week of competition. The varsity boys remained undefeated in dual matches as they took the measure of Lake Travis and San Antonio Madison. Especially satisfying was the victory over LT who had been able to hold off the Tigers for a few years. In addition, the boys varsity entered the Katy Maverick Stampede at Morton Ranch and placed second out of 39 teams. Able Silverman and Grant Clarno took the gold in this prestigious tourney. The varsity girls split their squads and the girls that went to Katy placed ninth among the 38 teams. The JV boys entered the San Antonio Roosevelt Rough Riders tourney and absolutely crushed the opposition. Meanwhile, some of the #2 athletes on the varsity were entered in the Varsity Rough Riders tourney as was part of the varsity girls team.

As some know, wrestling is divided into weight divisions. One weighs in and must make a weight to compete in the division, otherwise no go. In giving the individual results, the weight division will be listed and the numbers in parenthesis indicates their record prior to the tourney. Even though a wrestler does not place, they still accumulate team points.
