Varsity cross country setting personal records

The Dripping Springs varsity squads took part in the McNeil Elite Invitational cross country meet held at the Old Settlers Park course in Round Rock. Teams that were invited had to meet time requirements. The top teams around the state look to get into this meet because the course they will run is also the site of the state meet held there in a few weeks. The varsity girls competed with 19 teams in the Gold Division while the boys were up against 24 teams in the Silver Division. The Lady Tigers finished fifth trailing Lucas Lovejoy (5A), Colleyville Heritage (5A), Boerne Champion (5A) and Prosper (6A). Of course they will be battling Boerne Champion from district to state. Six of the nine Lady Tigers accomplished lifetime bests for the 5K. The Tigers finished 13th.
