Tiger Soccer has good start in district

The Tigers soccer team is off to a very good start in district with two wins and their season gets into its second half. They have opened with Travis and Crockett, taking 3-1 wins in each case. They are 6-1-5 on the season.

Travis proved a worthy opponent. DS held a slim 2-1 lead at half. Jair Ortega got the first goal with an assist from Gabe Molander. Max Gonzales got his goal on an assist from Desi de la Cruz. In the second half Ken Gossett was the recipient when de la Cruz's free kick could not be handled by the goalie and Gossett put it through. Coach Hill described it as a very tough game. Saying his players played hard and played great defensively. It was a really big district win.

Crockett was much the same. Although the Tigers created many scoring chances they were could not capitalize and the half ended 0-0. With 20 minutes left Crockett went ahead 1-0. The Tigers finally got their offense in gear in the last 13 minutes. Gonzales got a goal assisted by de la Cruz. Next Gossett scored, assist by Juan Galindo. Gonzales got his second goal with Adam Knutson assisting. Molander, Luke Koppel, Jalen Chavez and Alexis Gonzalez were cited for their play. JV: Tied 1-1 with Travis with Adrian Chiang getting the goal. Crockett fell 4-0. Carlos Daners, Jose Juarez, Luis Mujica and Hayden Livingston scored the goals. 9Th: Defeated Travis 7-0. Scoring: Adam Knutson 3, Javier Ortega 2, Ricky Alvarez, Eduardo Jaime. Defeated Crockett 9-0: Ortega 3, Daniel Garcia 2, Alvarez 2, Javier Gonzales, Christian Urrutia.
