Tiger golf players head towards district play

The boys and girls golf teams have resumed their season headed toward district play and the playoff route. Weather, of course, has been hit and miss. The varsity has persevered in their two meets while the JV had two of their tourneys cancelled due to the weather. They were able to play in the Lake Travis tourney played at Live Oak.

The varsity entered the two-day tourney sponsored by Vandegrift and played at Delaware Springs and the Bastrop tourney held at Wolfdancer. At Wolfdancer, two DS golfers had to withdraw on the second day and could not compete for team title.

Vandegrift scores: Tanner Wardlaw 76-81=157, Luke Ezzel 84-82=166, Houston Seay 89-87=176, Coy Needham 91-91=182, Nick Kort 89-87=183. Team: 338-341=679.

Bastrop scores: Wardlaw 83-82=165, Kort 91-86=177, Lane Johnson 83-96=179, Ezell 83-WD, Seay 96-WD.

JV scores: Coy Needham 78, Allen Ferno 95, Addison Jetter 104, Tyler Hauger 113.

The varsity girls had two-day tourneys at the Marble Falls Girls Classic at Lighthouse and Hidden Falls courses, plus the Wolfdancer course at Bastrop.

MF scores: Paige Miller (4th) 83-79=162; Samantha Miethke 92-86=178; Bethany Harkrider 107-112=219; Paris Shirley 116-123=239. Team: 398-400=798.

Bastrop scores: Miller 81-84=165; Miethke 89-97=186; Shirley 110-116=226; Harkrider 113-116=229. Team: 393-413=806.
