Tiger Football defeats Reagan

Clocks ran the entire second half

Sadly, the Tigers had to play another of those games that did not help their situation in preparing for the playoffs. Reagan did not give much competition as the Tigers breezed to a 44-0 win and the clock ran the entire second half. Even then, the reserves stayed on the Raider goal line but were unable to add to the scoring total.

Reagan kicked off and Ty Kaatz caught it on the run at the 26 and did not stop running until he had scored. Coleman Chapman kicked the EP and it was 7-0 with only eleven seconds gone. Reagan was forced to punt from the EZ and the ball rolled through the punter's legs for a safety. 9-0. DS negotiated a 41 drive in eight plays with Jacob Cox going in from the one. 16-0. Next possession DS scored in two. Tanner Prewitt hit Parker Alford in the flat and with a couple of moves took it 42 yards for the score. 23-0. First play Haden Dahl stepped in front of a pass and returned it 25 for the score. 30-0. Four minutes still left in first quarter.

On the second play of the second quarter, Nico Ramirez swept end to make it 37-0. Lucas Weeden would get the honor of scoring the last TD from the two to make it 44-0.

It was senior night as the seniors and their parents were honored prior to the game. At the half, an added attraction to the event occurred when the 1968 football team was honored. It was the 50thanniversary of the first team in DS 11-man history to win a district championship. Ten members and both coaches from the squad of 24 were able to attend. They were regional finalists.
