Swim team traveled to A&M
Thirty-five Dripping Springs swimming competitors travelled to A&M to participate in the Regional V-5A swim meet. That depth allowed DS to finish second in both divisions. District rival, LBJ, which split district titles with DS, took both divisions this time. The first sixteen places earn points toward the championship. The top two places automatically earn a spot in the state swim meet to be held at UT on February 14-15. DS depth showed as none placed in the top two, but the next best eight place times in each event from all regional meets makes it to state as well. Dripping Springs qualified in seven individual events and three relays. Also, three school records were set. The meet was so strong that Danny Henry's third place finish time would have won every other regional meet. No doubt it was the state meet. There were more than twenty teams entered in each division.
