Lady Tigers volleyball earns trip to state
Early in the season, the Lady Tigers fell to Round Rock in a tourney. But those early losses do not mean anything unless they are repeated in the playoffs.
The Lady Tigers goal all along has been a trip to the state tourney, and it will take a good effort to end that goal. Round Rock certainly did not manage that effort as DSHS shut them out 3-0. As it turns out, neither could San Antonio’s Harlan High School nor could Lake Travis High School, the district champion, at the Region IV tourney in San Antonio. Harlan won the first game, but the Lady Tigers would put them away in the next three. In the finals with Lake Travis, DSHS would win the first two, then lose the next two to put the outcome solely on the 15-point match. They took care of business and will make the familiar trip to Curtis Culwell Center in Garland for the state tourney.
