Lady Tigers Soccer on shutout streak

The Lady Tigers continued their shutout streak as they blanked Lanier 6-0. Jessica Carmichael opened the scoring at the 33.46 mark on an outside 18 shot. Over ten minutes later (22.48) Zoe Flores with an assist from Sofia Puccicu, scored on a one on one with the goalkeeper following a breakaway. Flores added another two minutes later, this time on as assist by Caroline Luttrull on a high cross at the edge of the 18. At the 10.15 mark Elizabeth Driggers with the assist from Jasmin Garcia finished a cross within the sixyard box. With 5.14 before the half, Driggers stole the ball and scored on the break away. The only score in the second half came with 46 seconds remaining. Grace Hellberg scored from outside the 18 on the left side with an assist by Puccicu.

It was just as easy for the JV team. They shutout Lanier 8-0. Scoring for the Lady Tigers were Reagan Logsdon 2, Cady Russell, Vanessa Nalutaaya, Faith Wylie, Reid Johnson, Kylie Yardas and Marie Eldhuset.

LBJ became the next shutout victim for the Lady Tigers. This time is was 5-0. Piccuci got the scoring up and running at the 35.30 mark as she took the ball to the goal. LBJ put up some resistence and it would not be until the 7.07 mark Flores made it 2-0 with an assist from Avery Davis and that is the way it stayed to the break.

Ziva Payer got her goal at the 27.57 mark, assisted by Carmichael. Piccuci scored at 7.41, assisted by Davis. Two minutes later Chloe Sansalone put the final goal on the board with an assist from Charleigh Phipps. A big play by the DS goalkeeper, Eli Jones came at the 19.32 mark when she stole the ball for a save.

The JV team found the going tough as well. It was scoreless at half. Wylie broke that tie with five minutes gone for the eventual 1-0 win.

Battling the elements of 33 degrees and chill factor of 24, the Lady Tigers were able to defend home turf with the Lockhart Lady Lions. DS would score in the first half and then add three more in the second for a 4-0 triumph and extend the shut out streak.

Piccuci scored off a cross by Flores to get the lone score of the first half at the 12.34 mark. It was a reversal at the 39.30 mark as Flores scored off a dribble assist from Piccuci. At 20.12, Payer had a driller shot outside the 18 box. Concluding at 6.40 Georgia Irons scored outside the 18 box with an assist from Jane Atwood. JV game was cancelled.
