Lady Tigers enjoy Brenham

The Lady Tigers softball team went to Brenham to get in their final tourney of the year before giving their complete attention to district foes. They got in some very good competition while going 4-2 in the tourney. A regular game with Lake Belton was rescheduled for April 23.

Shadow Creek took advantage of five Tiger errors to inflict a 6-4 loss on them. Haiden Anderson pitched a complete game, giving up 6 hits, walking three and striking out six. DS opened with three but could not hang on, even with 10 hits. Taylor Anderson 3, Erika Kanetzky 2, Jordan Cox 2, Linan Scott 2, Kate Tressler provided the sticks.

Not looking back DS downed Oak Ridge 7-2 in the second game of the day. It was Cox's time for a complete game, giving up 4 hits, striking out 5 and giving up a HR. DS had 8 hits coming from T. Anderson 2, Scott 2, H. Anderson HR, Haley Kanetzky, E. Kanetzky and Jo Hudgeons.

Next day DS took on host Brenham. A 7-run seventh put the nail in the coffin for a 10-1 victory. H. Anderson gave up two hits and struck out 5. Getting the 13 hits were T. Anderson 3, Cox 3, H. Kanetzky 2, Hudgeons 2, Scott 2, H. Anderson.

Small school power, Thorndale could not get past big DS innings to succumb 10-3. Cox tossed the first four innings to get credit for the win. She gave up 6 hits and struck out 5. H. Anderson closed out the final three, giving up one hit and striking out six. DS collected 14 hits coming from T. Anderson 3, Katie Young 2, H. Kanetzky 2, Cox 2, H. Anderson 2, E. Kanetzky, Attie Lux, Scott. Part of the arsenal was four doubles and a triple.

On the final day the first game was with Montgomery Lake Creek. It was a pitching duel that LC would prevail in a 3-1 score. LC got their three in the first two and made them hold up. DS could only get 3 hits by E. Kanetzky, Scott and H. Anderson. H. Anderson pitched the game giving up 5 hits and striking out six.

Dripping Springs was able to leave Brenham with a good taste in their mouths aa they sent Midland Legacy packing with a 5-0 loss. Cox got the job done with a one-hitter and 9 K's. Backing the pitching with their bats were E. Kanetzky 3, T. Anderson 2, H. Kanetzky 2, Cox, Scott, H. Anderson and Ashtyn Owens.
