Lady Tigers cross country third in State

The Lady Tigers cross country team have put in the work, some for four years, and it is always gratifying to see that work produce results. Dripping Springs’ last four seasons have ended at the state meet but this year the Tigers finished in third place which is the highest Dripping Springs has finished since 2003 when the Tigers also finished in third. This means the Lady Tigers get to add a UIL state trophy to their trophy case and each of the seven runners received a UIL medal for their efforts as well. In addition, Kate Ginther and Karsten Bobb received another medal for their top ten finishes among the 152 contestants. The Lady Tigers were never able to finish above Boerne Champion and didn’t in this meet either. However, the two-time champions had to give way to Lucas Lovejoy. First year head coach, Kourtney Morris, was very pleased with the Lady Tigers performance, saying the girls followed the plan to perfection to be in contention all the way.

State team results: Lucas Lovejoy 65, BC 71, DS 86, Colleyville Heritage 96, Dallas Highland Park 143, Canyon Randall 147, Grapevine 151, Mission Sharyland 220, College Station 272, NB Canyon 277, Hallsville 284, Amarillo 301, Frisco Wakeland 304.
