Ginther heads to State

Good News. An unexpected turn of events has allowed another of our outstanding track athletes to earn a spot at the state meet. 800 school record holder Kate Ginther was the recipient of this second chance.

She placed third at regional with a time of 2.14.04. However, as Coach Marissa Tuzzi explained, since the UT track had been expanded to nine lanes, the UIL has allowed a wildcard entry to the best third place performance from the four regionals to compete in the state meet. That would be Ginther.

It is a fitting tribute to our junior athlete that has had an outstanding year. She was a key ingredient to the cross country team that made it all the way to state and she placed high in the individual rankings. Now she will get to complete her track and field season with the same results. The extra workout time should allow her to lower her school record time even more. Congratulations to a deserving young lady.
