DSHS Tigers making a charge in district

After getting off to a 1-4 start in district play, the Dripping Springs High School Tigers are back in the race for that fourth spot with two wins.

A heartbreaking, onepoint loss to Bowie High School has been the fly in the ointment to date and will have to be taken care of in the second half. It will be a tough ask for wins over Johnson High School, Westlake High School and Lake Travis High School — but all else is fair game. Westlake put the fourth loss on the Tigers with an 83-46 final score.

Since then, DSHS took down Del Valle High School 70-38 and Anderson High School 71-54.

The Anderson game was a good effort by both teams. The Tigers broke away from early ties to push ahead by eight at the most. Anderson was efficient in the paint and would pull up close only to have the Tigers spurt ahead. It was 21-13 after one. The Trojans narrowed it to two (21-19) but another Tiger spurt pushed ahead for a 3329 halftime. The nip and tuck continued through the third, and a buzzerbeater tied the game at 45 after three. At this point, the Tigers quit fooling around and poured on the coals to completely dominate the final quarter.

Vs. Westlake: Luke Spozio 10, Judson Loe 8, Jaxon Reagan 5, Austin Moore 4, Cade Brunson 4, Kooper Brown 3, Dakin Drewitz 3, Zach Fleming 3, Dylan Ducharme 3, Jack Williamson 2, Maddox Bloomgren 1.

Vs. Del Valle: Bloomgren 17, Reagan 12, Davis Budge 11, Loe 7, Brown 6, Moore 6, Josh Oliphant 6, Spozio 2, Fleming.

Vs. Anderson: Spozio 18, Loe 14, Budge 12, Brunson 12, Reagan 8, Carter Larsen 3, Drewitz 2, Fleming 2.
