DSHS seniors sign National Letters of Intent
On Wednesday, Nov. 10, baseball players Brandon Arvidson and Aidan Perry, volleyball player Madi Lund, lacrosse players Brendan Linan and Lucy Tyo and gymnast Samantha Nokes publicly declared their selected colleges.
Brandon Arvidson, Baseball, Texas A&M University
Brandon Arvidson is a two-year letterwinner and starting pitcher for the Tiger baseball team. This year, he posted a 7-2 record with 80 strikeouts and a 1.51 ERA to help Dripping Springs to the regional finals for the first time in 23 years. As a junior, he earned secondteam all-district honors and was named to the academic all-district team. Brandon, who also plays for the Lonestar Baseball Club in Dripping Springs, is the son of Patricia and Brian Arvidson.
Aidan Perry, Baseball, Dakota State
Aidan Perry is a two-year letterwinner for the Tiger baseball team. He appeared in the infield for 26 games during their playoff run to the regional finals this year. He has been named twice to the academic all-district team (2020 and 2021). The son of Tiffany and Ryan Perry, Aidan also plays at the club level for Hooks Baseball.
Madi Lund, Volleyball, West Virginia University
Madi Lund is a threeyear letterwinner for the Tiger volleyball team. In 2020, she was a Texas Girls Coaches Association all-state selection and firstteam all-district honoree at middle blocker, helping Dripping Springs to the state semifinals. She also was named to the TGCA 5A-6A All-Star Team. As a sophomore, Madi was selected as the District 25-5A Newcomer of the Year. She plays club ball for the Austin Skyline Juniors organization and is the daughter of Robin and William Lund.
Brendan Linan, Lacrosse, Palm Beach Atlantic University
Brendan Linan is a threeyear varsity letterwinner for the Tigers as an attacker and midfielder. He is on track to earn an associate’s degree in May of 2022 and plans to pursue a pre-med degree in college. He is the son of Amy and Alex Linan.
Lucy Tyo, Lacrosse, Rockhurst University
Lucy Tyo is a four-year varsity starter and current captain for the Dripping Springs girls’ lacrosse team. She plays midfield for the Tigers, handling draws and face-offs. Lucy was named to the all-district team this year. For the last three years, she also played club ball for the Iron Horse Lacrosse Team. Lucy plans to study elementary education in college and is the daughter of Kathy and Kevin Tyo.
Samantha Nokes, Gymnastics, University of New Hampshire
Samantha Nokes has been a Level 10 gymnast for more than two years, training at National Elite Gymnastics. This year, she placed fifth in the all-around at the state championships, coming in second on uneven bars and third on the vault. At the Region 3 Championships, Sam finished 11th to earn a spot at the Junior Olympic National Championships in Florida. There, she recorded a top-10 finish on uneven bars. She plans to pursue her bachelor’s degree in health sciences and is the daughter of Diana and John Nokes.
