Cross country teams setting personal records

The Dripping Springs cross country teams had a banner day as they competed in the St. Andrews Episcopal Invitational. All of the teams competed hard and well, with many of the runners having personal best times. Three of the teams won their division and the other was second. Coach Morris made a statement that was the reason I appreciated the sport of track so much. She said all of her team participants competed regardless of position on the course and that is what I stressed to my runners. You can learn to compete at any level. Competing is not just between the top runners. A runner can make it a competition with the runner next to them even if it is for 30th place. The object is to give the effort to win that battle and not give up without a fight.
