Cross country strives through weather

It was a difficult time as the Dripping Springs cross country teams prepared for the District 26-5A meet at Seguin. First of all, on the appointed day the area had torrential rains that inundated the course and closed some schools. So it was postponed until the next day and was run in the middle of hot, humid weather. Certainly a different running atmosphere than expected. Everyone had to run in it so that equals out from that standpoint. The Lady Tigers had been running second behind Boerne Champion all year, so that finish was not unexpected. The boys finished fifth in a tight race. The JV girls dominated their division and the JV boys finished fifth. The varsity girls get to move on to regionals (see page 1), as well as Brant Melton and Austin Wolfe who finished in the top ten to earn a trip to regional as well. The regional meet will be held at Corpus Christi.
