Baseball Tigers earn All-District positions

District 26-6A in baseball, like all the other sports, is one of the toughest districts in the state. It makes sense that earning a spot on the All-District team is equally as tough.

The Dripping Springs High School Tigers had the misfortune of incurring key injuries in the middle of the season, which easily cost them a berth in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Westlake High School, the district champion, was a topranked team that made it to the state tourney. They only lost four games to that point and one of those losses came at the hands of the Tigers.

In the end, the Tigers settled for sixth place (88) with a 1-15-2 record. Dripping Springs was honored with four places on the team, and their youth this past season bodes well for a strong nucleus next year.

Sophomore Taylor Tracey was awarded first team pitcher. He was the ace of the staff, and his injury in the final third of the season was costly to the team. He pitched 29.1 innings, giving up 7H, 11W and striking out 58. His record was 5-0 with a .48 ERA. On the offensive side he had 27H-72AB for a .375BA with 4D, 1T, 1HR, 13RBI.

Sophomore Jack Tyndall received first team OF: 21-52=.404, 5D, 1T.

Senior Mason Ashlock earned first team 1B: 30-89=.337, 7D, 4HR, 20RBI.

Junior Theo Howard snagged second team OF: 21-71=296, 2D, 1T, 14RBI.
