Lynn Marie Fichtner

Lynn Marie Fichtner, of Driftwood, Texas passed away on May 23rd at the age of 60 after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born April 11th, 1960 in Houston, TX to Gavin Parrish & Ruth Bower Parrish.

Lynn married William Maverick Fichtner on December 7th, 1985 in Houston, TX. They resided in San Antonio before moving to Seattle, WA in 1989 where they had their only child, Annie. The family moved back to Texas in 2001 and built a beautiful home on a ranch in Driftwood.

Lynn received her BA in Political Science from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and her teaching certification at UTSA and was an English teacher at Barton Middle School in Buda, TX as well as Seoul, South Korea. She loved poetry, playing the steel drums, traveling, political activism and reading. Lynn’s joyful spirit inspired many and she will be greatly missed by all.

Lynn leaves behind her husband William, daughter Anne Marie Fichtner of Austin, TX and her brother Christopher Parrish of Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gavin and Ruth.

She will be interred at Driftwood Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Lynn’s memory may be made to Doctors Without Borders or the charity of your choice.
