Charles ‘Chick’ Walters

Charles “Chick" Walters, 90, passed away in Dripping Springs on March 8th from kidney failure.

He is survived by: Chipp (and daughter-in-law, Christi and granddaughter Mercedes), Richard (and granddaughter Kelly & great grandson Finn), Lizabeth (and son-in-law Randy and grandchildren Keith & Kimi), Heidi (and son-in-law Kent and granddaughters Kristina and Julia), Gretchen (and granddaughters Abigail, Ia-Simone, and Tabitha) and his best friend Dave Thelen, who loved him like a brother.

Chick served as an officer in the Korean War, received his PhD from University of Illinois in Environmental Engineering and retired from the Public Health Service as a senior officer.

He moved to warm & sunny Texas where he became a Longhorn football fan and remained an enthusiastic fan of Tar Heel basketball. He was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church where the member provided loving spiritual solace during his decline.

Chick kept his humor and love for his family until his passing. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Magnolia Hospice of Austin, TX.
