Soccer teams on top

Both of the Dripping Springs soccer teams remain on top of the district heap in their divisions with more one-sided wins after a string of close ones. The boys have carved out a 10-0-3, 6-0 record and have ten more games remaining. The girls are 10-1-1, 5-0-1.

Again, both teams are well-respected in the soccer world. The Lady Tigers are ranked 45th nationally, 9th in all Texas, 3rd in all Region IV, first in Texas 5A and 3rd in the Austin American-Statesman's 5A poll. Meanwhile, the Tigers are 38th nationally, 9th in state, 4th in Region IV, 3rd in 5A and first in American-Statesman 5A.

Like all other sports, the soccer teams had their seasons come to a frigid halt as the icy conditions associated with sub-freezing temperatures postponed their games with Seguin and most likely did the same for last Tuesdays games as well. However, each had gotten in winning games with Veterans Memorial and Lehman.

The Tigers cruised by Lehman 7-0. The JV teams were also victorious. They defeated Veterans Memorial 4-0 and Lehman 7-0.

The Lady Tigers had two shutouts as they defeated Veterans Memorial 4-0 and Lehman 3-0.
