Sports Tidbits January 30

Adult Softball Alert: For those interested in forming a team and playing in the Spring adult softball leagues, it is time to start making plans. There are three leagues available. Women (Mondays), Medium men (Tuesdays) and top men (Thursdays). These games are played on the two adult fields in the Sports and Recreation Park behind HEB on Rob Shelton Blvd and will begin in March. Those wanting to enter the Monday and Tuesday night leagues need to contact Carl Waits (512-858-4540) and the Thursday league Jake Bell (512-438-1350).

Wrestling Results: The Dripping Springs wrestling team went to Amarillo and participated in the 5A State Dual Championships. DS placed 5th. The previous two years they had finished 4th. The Tigers were in four matches. They lost to Canyon Randall 49-22; defeated Highland Park 51-18; lost to A&M Consolidated 39-28; defeated Carrollton Creekview 57-20.

Girls Soccer: DSHS defender Emma Jones was selected to the 2019 EXOS Select 50 All-American team. This represents top tier players. She has committed to Southeastern Louisiana.
