Decade Football Games: Third
1938: E.E. Myers would score three times as the Tigers downed Kyle 25-7. JWT “Snooks” Goslin added a TD and the extra point. Kyle led DS in first downs 9-5.
1948: The Tigers suffered their third shutout as Pflugerville eked out a 6-0 victory.
1958: The Tigers lost their third in a row when Texas School for the Deaf upended them 22-8.
1968: Salado would score first but the Tigers would score in every quarter to sail past the Eagles 30-6. Dennis Sansom would pass for 127 and two TD's and run in two to lead the attack. Randy Garnett had a big night rushing with 179 (l TD). Joe Williamson caught 5-103 TD; Paul Freitag 3-24 TD.
1978: Tigers could not hold onto a 20-13 half lead. A safety and late TD spelled a 22-20 defeat for the Tigers. Tiger defense held the Bobcats to 84 yards of total offense. Jeff Thurman caught TD passes of 76 & 52 yards from Mark Watson who passed for 134. Vern McCarty added 79 rushing and James Godwin 47, TD.
1988: DS took a 21-14 halftime lead and expanded it to a 43-14 win. Scoring for DS was Nelson Fowler 2, Mark Tinsley, Michael Myers, Brett Boydston and John Russell. Boydston passed for 173 and Myers rushed for 81. Scott Glass kicked 5EPs.
1998: In a very defensive battle, a TD in the third would give the Tigers the edge to win over Manor 16-12. Each team scored on their first passing play. Manor led total offense 223-183. Regan Foster and Jason Wells scored TD's while Russell Cameron kicked a FG and EP. Tony Salazar rushed for 71 and Britt Peterson passed for 74.
2008: Chris Smith broke a 13-13 tie with a fourth quarter 5 run to ease past the Mc-Callum Knights 20-13. Jacob Moore scored the other TD while Hayden Fowlkes kicked two FG's and two EP's for the win.
