'Top Out' ceremony held for new fire station

The highest structural beam was erected on the new Fire Station #74, located at the intersection of Belterra Drive and Sawyer Ranch Road. The “top out” ceremony was held on Friday, October, 23. Fire and EMS personnel were on-hand to witness the historic event. “The North Hays County Fire Rescue is pleased with the progress of the new Fire Station #74,” NHCFR Chief Scott Collard said. “The project is on schedule to be completed in May of 2021. This facility is a great addition to our organization and will allow us to grow with the community around us.”

Once open, the facility will house both firefighters and EMS crews. The new station was designed with the future growth of the area in mind and will be capable of housing numerous units and personnel including the department's ladder truck.
