Tax help for Dripping Springs residents returns

Dripping Springs Tax-Aide is back to doing inperson returns after two years of providing tax assistance using scanning and curbside contacts.

Tax-Aide will provide tax preparation services this year at a new location: Dripping Springs Presbyterian Church at 26650 Ranch Road 12. They expect to be back with Dripping Springs ISD Community Services as soon as the new Walnut Springs location is ready.

This free assistance with income tax preparation has been sponsored for 19 years by DSISD Community Services, located at the DSISD administration building. The local group is part of the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program. Each year, the volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS. Although AARP Foundation focuses on the needs of older taxpayers, the Tax-Aide program has no age limits. The local site will continue to provide assistance to taxpayers of all ages.

Tax-Aide assistance is limited to returns within the scope of the Tax-Aide training. Tax returns are filed electronically, and the organization has set up a secure system to handle tax information, according to Tax-Aide.

For more information or for an appointment, call (512) 858-0954 or make an appointment online at the Tax-Aide Locator.
